About this tool
The ShishwaLab Hash Generator computes MD5 plus SHA-1/256/384/512 digests for text you enter. SHA algorithms use the Web Crypto API; MD5 uses a compact local implementation for legacy checksum checks.
Hashes help verify integrity and compare payloads. They are not encryption and should not be used alone to store passwords.

Tips for better results
- Prefer SHA-256 or SHA-512 for new integrity checks; MD5/SHA-1 are legacy-oriented.
- Compare hashes in lowercase hex as shown.
- Empty input still produces a valid digest of the empty string—usually unintentional.
- For files, hash the exact bytes your system uses; this tool hashes UTF-8 text.
