AI Image Upscaler

Upscale and enhance images locally with 2x/4x scaling, sharpening, noise reduction, contrast, and before/after preview. Free, fast, and built for a clean browser workflow.

JPG, PNG, or WebP up to 20 MB. Upscaling and enhancement run locally — not uploaded to ShishwaLab servers.

Scale

Upload a JPG, PNG, or WebP image to upscale and enhance locally.

About this tool

This free image upscaler and photo enhancer enlarges photos with high-quality interpolation, then applies sharpening, noise reduction, contrast, and optional detail enhancement — all in your browser.

Phase 1 does not use neural super-resolution. The engine is modular so a future ONNX model can plug in without changing the page workflow. Your image is not uploaded to ShishwaLab servers for processing.

Pair it with the Image Compressor & Resizer when you need a smaller file after upscaling, or the Background Remover for cutouts.

Tips for better results

  • Start at 2x for most photos; use 4x only when you need a larger print or crop and your device has enough memory.
  • Add a little sharpen and contrast after upscaling — too much can look harsh on faces and soft gradients.
  • Noise reduction helps grainy phone photos; keep it low on already-clean studio shots so fine texture stays.
  • Very large outputs are capped for memory safety. Compress oversized originals first if enhance fails on a low-memory device.

How to use

  1. 1 Upload a JPG, PNG, or WebP image.
  2. 2 Choose 2x or 4x scale and adjust sharpen, noise reduction, and contrast.
  3. 3 Click Enhance & Preview, compare before/after, then download PNG or JPEG.

FAQ

Is this a neural super-resolution AI?

No. Phase 1 uses high-quality browser interpolation plus sharpening, denoise, contrast, and detail filters. It is not neural super-resolution.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Upscaling and enhancement run locally in your browser. Your photo is not uploaded to ShishwaLab servers for processing.

Which formats are supported?

JPG, PNG, and WebP input. Download as PNG or JPEG.

What do 2x and 4x mean?

They multiply width and height. A 800×600 image becomes 1600×1200 at 2x or 3200×2400 at 4x (within memory caps).

Will it fix a very blurry photo?

It can sharpen and improve perceived clarity, but it cannot invent missing detail the way a dedicated neural model might.

What if my device runs out of memory?

Try 2x instead of 4x, compress the original first, or close other tabs. The tool shows a clear message when memory limits are hit.
